Paul Holmes

Finance Director

I was born in Walkley in 1966, just in time to see our FA cup run that year and am a lifelong supporter of the club. I now live on the other side of the city in Sothall.

I have been on the board of the society since 2003 during my time I have seen many ups and downs with the club and the Society, we are both now very much on the up.

I have been  married for 20 years to Liz, and have two children Hannah and James and a grandchild, Zach who was born in April 2011 and has been a season ticket holder for three seasons now (2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13) in the South Stand grandstand with me and my son James and fellow director Jeff. My son James deserted us last season to play the drum in the kop band, bit still keeps his season ticket in the grandstand.

Due to being a Senior County Referee I don't get to many away games as I used to as I referee in local Saturday and Sunday leagues when Sheffield Wednesday are not at home. I had the pleasure of being Assistant Referree to Neil Swarbrick (premier league referee) in May 2012 at Ewood Park  in the National Christian Cup Final.

I am involved with a lot of the aspects of the organisation, being responsible for coach ticket sales and Eventbrite, our coach ticketing system. I can be found at the car park with Jeff and Dave on match-days, I also assist with our twitter feed on match-days as well as making sure the finances are in order. I also assist in stewarding coaches when demand is for us to run several coaches.

I also assisted Peter Shaw in organising the two charity bike rides (Coast to Coast in 2009 and the Brentford to Bluebell wood ride in May 2012). I didn't actually ride it but on both occassions drove support vehicles. We want to make this an annual event and who knows I maybe persuaded to get in the saddle and emulate Bradley Wiggins!!
