SMILE is Wednesdayite’s popular and long-running scheme whereby we use proceeds from our many events to reward local organizations and deserving Wednesday fans with tickets to watch the Owls. We’ve raised over £13000 in the last six years and made hundreds of fans SMILE with a free trip to see Wednesday at the home of Sheffield football.
Big thanks go to Owls supporter Trevor Mansell whose prints of matchday scenes have raised over £8,800 for smile. We have sold over 750 of three different prints for smile. Trevor we salute you!
Just like last season we are proud to be partnering with the club and SWFC Community to host three SMILE Tickets days during the season, with more fans than ever being part of the fun.
As our Chair, Paul Holmes, puts it “SMILE is the thing we’re most proud of at Wednesdayite. Working together with the club and the community programme to help spread the SWFC name and reaching out to show that the Owls are an active and passionate part of our local community is exactly what a fans’ group like Wednesdayite should be doing. We’re thrilled that our guests from Weston Park Hospital and Monteney Primary School will be here for the match and we can’t wait to put more SMILEs on faces this season!”
Saturday's SMILE guests will be hosted by Wednesdayite director Craig Turton – who will make sure that the experience is something special for our guests, many of whom are visiting Hillsborough for the first time.
SMILE is running all season and is available to all deserving Wednesday fans, whether they are suffering through illness, have prioritised looking after family members or helping in the community over going to matches or even who struggle to make matches due to financial reasons.
