Our group is very much in its infancy and the committee members have been working hard to launch this in a short space of time. We believe that we can provide a valuable service to the Wednesday community within the East Midlands.
We have no political agenda and are purely based on bringing the fans together in a way that appeals to all ages and generations. We would like to thank the Wednesdayite directors for giving East Midlands Owls this opportunity of affiliation and we very much look forward to the 2012/13 campaign.”
Nigel Short, chair of Wednesdayite, stated “We are delighted to welcome East Midlands Owls as the first of what we hope will be a number of affiliations with similar groups. Since the unfortunate demise of the Supporters Club there has been a massive gap in what is available to our far flung fans that would benefit from organised travel to home and away games, as well as many of the other benefits of belonging to a collective group.
John and his committee have worked tirelessly to establish East Midlands Owls and we are pleased they share our belief that a supporters group can not only benefit fans, but the communities they are based in. We look forward to a long and happy partnership with them."
