First up we have the man they named Brazilian legend Zico after, Mel Sterland - who captained the Owls in the top flight through one of the most fondly-remembered eras in our club's history under Howard Wilkinson. Next in line is the man who lifted the trophy on that incredible May day in Cardiff in 2005 - Lee Bullen - and has the unique distinction of having played in every single position, including between the sticks, for the SWFC cause! Hirsty himself was clearly captain material of course - a leader of men who never left a pint behind on the battlefield! And finally we have the current skipper at S6, the redoubtable Rob Jones*, whose leadership and dominating performances alongside Danny Baath at the heart of the Owls defence has been a huge part of the successful first half of this season!
And if all of the above wasn't enough, the night will be hosted by a man who is a Hillsborough legend himself - not only for his goals but also for his unbiased and understated commentary on Wednesday games on the radio, John Pearson.
Held at Hillsborough on Wednesday February 1st (doors open 7pm for a 7:30 start), our Hirsty's Bar Captains Night is sure to be an absolutely fascinating and hilarious trip down memory lane, as well as a chance to get the thoughts of the man who we all believe will lead the Owls all the way to promotion.
Tickets are £9.95 for Wednesdayite members, £11.95 for non-members and includes a pie and pea supper. Simply use our form below to book your place at another cracking Hirsty's Bar!
