  • B2BW MAP

We'll be Tweeting, Facebooking, Blogging, Taking Lots Of Photos and all the rest from our B2BW charity bike ride - but you can follow all the action in one place with our amazing Interative Route Map!

Tracking our progress from Brentford to Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice, the map will allow Owls fans to keep tabs on the progress made by Hirsty and the boys in real time!

Setting off after the final away match of the season at Brentford on April 28th, our intrepid explorers will cover a total of 185 miles and conclude their ride at Bluebell Wood on May 1st. Our team includes Wednesdayite Chairman Nigel Short, Financial Director Paul Holmes and - returning for more punishment - Owls legend David Hirst!

Our riders will be reading all your comments and best wishes - so make sure you give them your support!

A bit of background about the ride

Our riders launched the ride at Bluebell Wood last week. Hirsty was in fine form and bullish about the squad's ability to complete the ride, even though most of those taking part were only just about able to drag themselves to the photocall after the horrific training rides Batty has sent them on...

Amongst the jollity and anticipation, however, there was a sobering moment for Wednesdayite Chairman Nigel, who picks up the story:

"I'd had quite a busy morning, my son Dan was with me and we were chatting away as we arrived at Bluebell Wood... as we drove through the gate we had to pass a hearse which had pulled up outside the main doors... For me - everything came crashing into a reality that I had briefly considered but not really dwelled upon.

The aching muscles from the weekend's training ride seemed irrelevant for me at that point. I became more focused on what we have to do and hopefully on how much we can raise as a team.

The work that Bluebell Wood do is so incredibly important - and I had no idea to what extent it reaches out into our communities. There is so much more than just the palliative care they give to those who need it most.

I would urge you all to have a good read of the website. Think of your own kids, family and friends who have kids. I have 2 of my own and I know it really touched Dan."

Please also take the time to watch this short and touching video highlighting what Bluebell Wood means:
